Protecting our community from COVID-19

IMPORTANT INFORMATION COVID-19

Crowley Care’s top priority remains the safety of our residents, staff, families and visitors.
Since the start of the Pandemic our policy has been to take a cautious approach in order to better protect our residents, staff, visitors and families.  This includes taking a number of actions including:

  1. continually monitoring information and advice regarding the Pandemic,
  2. restricting who can enter the facility, and
  3. screening everyone entering the facility

In forming our policies and processes we are guided by advice from government, state and federal health departments, and industry peak bodies.  The situation is extremely fluid with circumstances changing daily and as such our policy may change without notice.

RESIDENT VISITS

Pre-booking of visits will no longer be required and visitors are now able to access Barney’s Café and shared spaces such as lounge rooms and dining rooms.
Visits may take place during the facility visiting hours:

Monday to Friday      8:30 am           5:00 pm

Saturday & Sunday   9:00 am           2:00 pm

All visitors must enter via the main Reception door which will be monitored during visiting hours. Check in and screening procedures remain for all persons entering the facility.

RESIDENT EXCURSIONS

Residents leaving the premises will be asked to complete a Resident Excursion Notification Form which can be completed on the day. This ensures we are aware of where residents are and most importantly when we can expect them back to the facility.
Residents leaving the facility should continue to practice COVID-Safe behaviours including hand and respiratory hygiene, physical distancing (1.5m) and mask wearing where this is not possible.

RESTRICTIONS ON ENTRY

  1. Anyone who in the last 14 days has been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
  2. Anyone who has a temperature of 37.5 degrees or over, or symptoms of acute respiratory infection (e.g. cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath);

In addition, if you live in, work in or have visited COVID-19 hotspots or restricted areas in the last 14 days you will not be allowed to enter the facility.
NSW Health provide advice for aged care providers on restricted areas.  This advice changes frequently, therefore if you are travelling to visit a resident we encourage you to call ahead before your visit for information on current restrictions.

Crowley will only continue to facilitate visits and excursions so long as it is safe to do so.  In the event we need to return to a higher level of alert (for example if COVID-19 cases are present in the community or there is an increased risk that cases will be found) we may restrict or cease excursions and visitations.

Residents and stakeholders of Crowley will be informed of any changes.
