Protecting our community from COVID-19

IMPORTANT INFORMATION COVID-19

Crowley Care’s top priority remains the safety of our residents, staff, families and visitors.
Since the start of the Pandemic our policy has been to take a cautious approach in order to better protect our residents, staff, visitors and families.  This includes taking a number of actions including:

  1. continually monitoring information and advice regarding the Pandemic,
  2. restricting who can enter the facility,
  3. screening everyone entering the facility, and
  4. undertaking a risk assessment for all Resident Excursions.

In forming our policies and processes we are guided by advice from government, state and federal health departments, and industry peak bodies.  The situation is extremely fluid with circumstances changing daily and as such our policy may change without notice.

RESTRICTIONS ON ENTRY
Crowley are required to adhere to NSW Health and Public Health orders in determining who can enter our facility.
The following visitors and staff will not be permitted to enter the facility:

  1. Anyone who in the last 14 days has been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
  2. Anyone who has a temperature of 37.5 degrees or over, or symptoms of acute respiratory infection (e.g. cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath); and
  3. Anyone who has not been vaccinated against influenza.

In addition, if you live in, work in or have visited COVID-19 hotspots or restricted areas in the last 14 days you will not be allowed to enter the facility.

NSW Health provided advice for aged care providers on restricted areas.  This information changes frequently and therefore, we encourage you to call ahead before your visit for information on current restrictions.

RESIDENT EXCURSIONS AND VISITS

Currently a Resident may have a maximum of 2 visitors at a time for a period of 1 hour.  Visits must be booked via our Crowley Communications Team and must be undertaken in the Residents room or designated area of the facility.  Visits cannot take place in common or shared spaces within the facility and visitors must remain in the designated area and can only visit one Resident at a time.

Prior to a Resident leaving the facility Crowley are required to undertake a risk assessment taking into account various factors including; the local epidemiology, number of people the resident may be exposed to during the excursion, the feasibility of physical distancing and the vaccination status of those the resident may have contact with.

Crowley will only continue to facilitate visits and excursions so long as it is safe to do so.  In the event we need to return to a higher level of alert (for example if COVID-19 cases are present in the community or there is an increased risk that cases will be found) we may restrict or cease excursions and visitations.

Residents and stakeholders of Crowley will be informed of any changes.
